After approximately twenty years in leadership at Seattle Pacific University, Jeff Van Duzer stepped into “retirement” in the summer of 2019. Since retiring, he has continued to serve as a consultant to SPU, to teach as an adjunct and to write on a theology of business. He also is active as a mentor, serves in leadership roles at his church, and has recently reinstated his law license with the goal of providing pro bono services to underserved populations.
Prior to retirement, Jeff served as SPU’s Provost, as the Dean of the School of Business and Economics and as a Professor of Business Ethics and Business Law. During his tenure as Dean, InterVarsity Press released Jeff’s book “Why Business Matters to God.” Before coming to SPU, Jeff was a partner with the international law firm of Davis Wright Tremaine where he practiced for more than 20 years. While at DWT, he served for nearly a decade on the firm’s Executive Committee and served as the Partner in Charge of the firm’s largest office.
